BALANCE

Writer: Ewaen Eloghosa AidelojeEwaen Eloghosa Aideloje

Just like that, we are already in the month of March. As the year moves along, we often find ourselves reflecting on what we’ve achieved and what we haven’t.

This time, you pause, and as you do, there’s a moment of introspection, a feeling of “What have I really been up to?”

As a new mom juggling a fast-paced career, the idea of work-life balance often feels like a moving target.

In the beginning, I struggled to manage deadlines, sleepless nights, and the endless demands of a growing family. It was overwhelming. But amidst the chaos, I discovered something surprising: motherhood wasn’t a distraction from my professional life, it was sharpening my skills in ways I hadn’t imagined.

Balancing both worlds has made me a better planner, communicator, and multitasker. I’ve learned to break my days into manageable pieces, focus on what matters most, and embrace progress over perfection. Whether it’s rocking my baby to sleep while organizing my thoughts for a project or finding creative ways to prioritize my time, I’ve honed the ability to adapt and thrive under pressure.

What’s been most rewarding, though, is realizing that balance doesn’t mean perfection. Some days lean more toward work; others, toward family and that’s okay. What truly matters is showing up, learning, and celebrating the small wins. Like completing the day’s work while being a wife and mom without losing your sanity!

To any working parent navigating this stage: know this, it’s not easy, but it’s worth it. You’re not just managing responsibilities; you’re building resilience and creating harmony on your terms.

Motherhood and a career don’t have to compete. Together, they can help you grow in ways you never thought possible.

So, take a moment to pat yourself on the back and admit, you’re doing well!
